I was first introduced to Zumba by instructor Robyn in January 2007 and my addiction
is still not satisfied. With the help of Robyn, I was certified in
August 2007 to become a ZIN (Zumba instructor network) member and began
my life as ZUMBA KING. There is nothing in the fitness world like Zumba
and I want to spread this addiction to everyone. Those who want to have
a great time dancing (cause it doesn’t feel like exercise) lose weight,
tone up and leave with that energized feeling, then zumba is where it’s
at. As ZUMBA KING I have made it my duty to spread the word of the great
benefits of a cardio workout and how Zumba can do that so you don’t
have to resort to the same ole’ boring workouts or the dreaded
treadmill.
The great thing about Zumba that I love is that you don’t have to have had a history of
dance lessons to enjoy the benefits of Zumba. As for myself I have
bloodlines that began in the Caribbean and the passion of Latin dance is
in my soul. In my earlier years, I enjoyed minor lessons in ballet,
modern, hip hop, tap, and Latin dance. So when Zumba came along it
sparked all those childhood lessons and gave me that vessel to release
all that energy in class, and my class members reap the benefits. So
it’s a win/win for instructor and student.
This summer I look forward to getting certified as a Group Aerobic Instructor
through ACE (American Council of Exercise) a national accredited test.
The completion and passing of this certification will give me the most
informed training as ZUMBA KING and in turn I will be able to pass that
on with even greater quality of service to my zumbalings.
