My Background

The seeds for my career in fitness were planted in May of 2005 when I first began working with a personal trainer. As I embarked on my own (continuing) journey to improved health and fitness, I became more and more fascinated at the positive changes and transformation the human body can undergo when combined with intention, self-motivation, and conviction.

My Mission

During my own personal quest to lose weight I found that wow, if I can help people do this in a fun way, this could be life altering for me and everyone I could reach. I found Zumba while I was in Ohio Visiting a friend I took the class and all I could do is think about how I can bring it to the Michigan/Detroit area like it was in Ohio, Miami, Atlanta, California !! I got certified and it’s been all she wrote. I’ve been off and running ever since…

My Classes

If you have been to one of my classes, please let me know if a smile has ever absent from my face. :o) I LOVE ZUMBA and I’ll say it again. Zumba has changed my life. I have met so many wonderful people since I’ve been teaching. I have “before” and “after” pictures, so come to my class and I will be more than happy show you my own personal transformation! I love to dance and burn calories, so Zumba came to me right "on time", and now I’m here for you! For my students that have been to our class, please leave a comment on the “comment page” and tell me about your Zumba Experience.

About Zumba

Zumba is AWESOME, and I’m so thankful I am able to bring it to you!   It is the most FUN I have ever had exercising — I love the music and Zumba is danced-based, and everyone who knows me knows I LOVE TO DANCE!  My classes aren’t structured like your typical aerobics class.  I do my best to follow Zumba protocol, which is 75% dance, 25% fitness and toning, with the toning part coming from fitness moves such as lunges, squats, bicep curls, etc., but the emphasis will always be on the music and dance.  You could say that the only request I have of anyone coming to one of my classes is that you allow yourself to do only one thing:  FEEL the music!  Lose your inhibitions — nobody is judging anybody in any way.  As anyone who has taken my class in the past knows, there are certain times when you just have to cut yourself loose and SHAKE IT!!!!  (At least I do!!!)  Zumba is a “Feel Happy” workout, and you can’t truly feel happy if you feel inhibited, can you?  RELAX!  Enjoy the music, enjoy the movement — enjoy the body you’ve been given while you take it on the journey you’ve chosen to health and fitness.  Trust me — your body loves to have fun!

One of the many beautiful things about Zumba is:  THERE ARE NO MISTAKES!!  I tell my students that if you are moving, and if you are upright, and if you are smiling, then you are doing Zumba correctly!  I don’t do assessments on my students; I trust YOU to know what your body is able to handle when it comes to movement.  If you find a certain move doesn’t work for where you are right now, that’s OKAY!  Want to turn it down a notch?  I will show you how to modify a move so it works for you.

So what’s holding you back?  Come try out a class — you’ll have a blast and meet some new friends.  Watch the Concept Video on my home page, but don’t worry — you don’t need to wear spandex and sports bras to attend my classes — I mean it when I say Zumba is for Everybody, and Zumba is for EVERY BODY!  Come on, admit it (you, too, fellas!!) — deep down inside, you really want to dance, don’t you??!!!  Why not get healthier at the same time & there are some hot ladies in class. Come on in and see J

If you are having a bad day come to a Zumba Class, and by the time you leave I promise you will feel 100% better !!

Not only am I thrilled, but I am honored, to be able to bring Zumba to you!

I look forward to meeting you in class!

Quit Smoking - The jury is definitely in on this verdict. Ever since 1960 when the Surgeon General announced that smoking was harmful to your health, Americans have been reducing their use of tobacco products that kill. Just recently, we've seen a surge in smoking in adolescents and teens. Could it be the Hollywood influence? It seems the stars in every movie of late smoke cigarettes. Beware. Warn your children of the false romance or 'tough guy' stance of Hollywood smokers. Thought for the day: Give up just one cigarette…. the next one.
